A long but excellent read about the whole Kickstarter “Above the Game” fracas and the aftermath of writing about it.
Thank you, Casey Malone.

What do you do with a friend who has no interest in your life but expects you to have an unending interest in theirs? What do you do when every conversation is a story about their family, their job, their vacations, their accomplishments, their minutia? What do you do when you are expected to sit enthralled by their every word but they never ask you in return how you are doing, how is your family, how was your vacation, what’s going on in your life. What do you do when you try to start that end of the conversation but they manage to turn it back to them? What do you do with a friend who is a long, long time friend but has become more and more immersed in their own singular world lately and you feel like every time you are together you are but a peripheral character in their one act play? What do you do when the only time they ask you what you’ve been doing is to cut off your answer with how they did it better? What do you do if you don’t want to let this friendship go but it’s become a weary burden to hang on to? What do you do with a friend who has seemingly lost the desire to be a true friend and sees you - whether they realize it or not - as a wall off which to bounce the sound of their own voice? What do you do when you want to let it go but it would make you unbearably sad to do so because letting go of the present relationship means letting go of the chance it could go back to what it was?
What do you do?
Came back to the final countdown. on Flickr.
That is my new “Is it Friday yet?”
Seriously rethinking our plans to attend the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
I have not been in the office since the 6th. I’m just not ready to go back yet. Usually I’m ready to get back into a routine after a vacation but not this time. I could use another week. Or two. Three?
