  1. Killing the Sacred Cows on Your Classic Rock Countdown

    My latest at Forbes.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying the songs on these lists are all horrible tunes. I grew up listening to a lot of them. Some of the songs were staples of my high school musical diet. But the older I got, the less the songs meant to me. Sure, they have some good memories attached to them, but I stopped referring to them as “Holy crap this is the greatest song ever made, man!” soon after I stopped drinking Boonesfarm wine. In some cases, I just got sick of them. Which happens when you live in a radio market where the two competing rock stations still play Freebird every three hours.
