Today is Natalie’s 23rd birthday.
I’m fortunate to be the mother of such a warm, honest, beautiful, talented, funny, daring woman.
The most important things I ever wanted to teach my children are this: Be true to yourself without apology, and be the kind of person who can look in the mirror and be proud of what you see.
She’s been successful on both counts.
How she’s gone from that little girl who loved the Power Rangers, basketball and all things Disney to this Buddhist yoga instructor-in-training who loves all things Disney in so short a time mystifies me. The passage of time, how does it work?
Happy birthday, Nat. All four of your parents are really proud of who you are and how far you’ve come. Enjoy the rest of your journey.
(Say happy birthday to her!)
