Ren is feeling better. I had a restless sleep last night as I kept getting up to make sure she was ok. Reminded me of when my kids were babies and were sick, I’d keep getting up during the night to make sure they were still breathing. She had a regular poop this morning (hey, an update is an update) and ate her breakfast and is running around so whatever was in her system looks to be out of it. Thinking of taking her to the vet tomorrow anyway just to check her out, mostly for my peace of mind so I don’t keep watching her like a hawk. Or like a mother.
Happy first birthday, MC Ren!
Unfortunately, Ren appears to be sick on her birthday. She’s having some stomach issues and we’re sure it’s from something she ate that she wasn’t supposed to eat - a rock, some mulch, a cricket, a snail - and we’re unable to celebrate with extra treats tonight.
She’s such a fun, lovable dog, even if she does like to poop on the carpet and chew up phone chargers. And she’s damn cute.
Here’s hoping she feels better tomorrow. Sucks to be sick on your birthday.
This is MC Ren.
Todd writes about her a lot and I feel like I need to defend her.
Sure, she has been tough to train and sometimes poops on the carpet and yea, she has a tendency to eat blankets and power cords and sneakers and ok, she brings bugs into the house as if they are little playthings but LOOK AT HOW CUTE SHE IS.
She really is the cutest dog. She likes to lick faces, she plays a mean game of fetch and she’s a good midnight cuddler.
Everything he says about her is true. But I just want to stress the cute part.
It’s “take pictures of MC Ren” day.
MC Ren, contemplative.
Sometimes I take out the real camera.
Todd took a better picture of the sleeping buddies.
Because MC Ren is a purebred Miniature Schnauzer, we had to give her an official AKC name in order to register her.
Official AKC names are usually some combination of pretentious and comedic. They are bloated, silly names.
So of course we accepted the challenge of making one up.
We present to you MC Ren, officially* known in the AKC world as
TROGDOR WARRIOR PRINCESS OF THE TUNDRA.
*yet to be approved by AKC.
