☛ The Triumph Of Making Noise
I know this couple. They have been married long enough to have accumulated children and a complete set of china.
Putting some of my old stuff at medium. This is from 2005.
☛ The Games of April
Watching this game in the old barn brings back memories and those memories in turn make the spot in my heart where my Islanders allegiance lives hurt just a little when I think about how all this is going to end soon. There are reminders everywhere, from the Barclay ads to the guy in the last row of my section who keeps shouting out “Brooklyn Sucks.” The ads in the bathroom imploring us to buy season tickets for the team’s inaugural season at Barclays sting but that sting is relieved by the salve of today’s game.
I wrote something about being at the Islanders game yesterday. It’s about my love of the game, making noise and more.
I broke out of my writing slump and wrote a thing at Medium about sports, hockey and spring.
Oh, those years. When the warm weather meant switching from your team’s Starter jacket to their sweatshirt. When you felt that surge of momentary happiness, the kind that comes from being a sports fan, from being a part of something bigger than yourself. All these people, all these regular season games spent with one common hope, one common vision: make it to the playoffs. Give us a post-season. We may not as a people agree on so many things, so many important things, but for a few hours a night we have a commonality that supersedes any differences we may have.
Read, share, if that’s your thing.

☛ 100 word stories
100 Word Stories was a year long project I had here on tumblr. I’ve taken my favorites from there (43 pieces of my heart and soul) and put them on @medium, which I think is a really great venue for what how I wanted to present these stories.
My goal here is to get them published in a book, which I will probably end up publishing on my own.
I’d appreciate it if you would check this out as it’s a project I put all of my emotion into. The photos are mine, the words are mine, the sentiments are mine, gathered over the span of 40 years or so.
If you’d like to share the link, even better. I don’t often ask you to reblog or share my own stuff, but I’d really like to get this one out there.
